This study was written to explain the methods of recruiting members of the Boko Haram terrorist organization within the scope of the radicalization in Nigeria. In the study, which was prepared by using qualitative methods, firstly the concept of radicalism was examined, and the answer to the question of how individuals and groups were radicalized was sought with theories and models. The theories and models referenced are McCauley and Moskalenko's work, which examines radicalization individually, grouped and collectively, Moghadam's "Staircase to Terrorism Model" and "Relative Deprivation Theory" developed by Runciman and Gurr. After the first part, which includes the conceptual analysis, in the second part, the factors that led to radicalization in Nigeria are examined in the perspective of the state-building processes, the foundation of which was laid in the colonial period. In the last part, within the scope of the motivations leading to radicalization, why and how individuals and groups joined the Boko Haram terrorist organization were analyzed.
